Our vision is to be the crown jewel for the sake of Christ in education through faith, virtue, and excellence!
Thank you for considering St. Barnabas Episcopal School, a crown jewel of sound learning, new discovery, and the pursuit of wisdom!
My primary mission as Head of School at St. Barnabas Episcopal School is to ensure that every individual who shapes our students’ lives remains focused on trusting and glorifying God daily. When we center ourselves in faith in God and build Christ-centered relationships, we remain a blessed community. This foundation enables us to fulfill our true calling: developing well-rounded servant leaders grounded in virtue, academic rigor, and moral excellence.
St. Barnabas and DeLand have been my professional and spiritual home since 1996. Over the past nearly three decades, I have had the privilege of serving this community as a PE teacher and Athletic Director, Assistant Head of School, and, for the last 12 years, as Head of School. It is a profound honor to lead alongside a faculty of dedicated Christian educators who nurture a lifelong love of learning in every child.
Family is the cornerstone of my life. Lori and I have been married for over thirty-six years, and our greatest achievement has been raising our two children, Kayla and Matthew, within this very community. Seeing them now as happily married adults walking in the truth of Christ is the fulfillment of the promise in 3 John 1:4: “I have no greater joy than this, to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
Education remains our priority. Our teachers hold at least a Bachelor’s degree, with many having Master’s degrees, and continue to grow through mentorship and ongoing learning. Our dynamic and engaging faculty facilitate authentic learning.
Students scores are well above the national average.
We strive to develop lifelong disciplines of emotional health and social skills.
