  • Curriculum Overview

As students transition into our middle-school program, we begin to turn our focus to the organizational and time management skills that will help them be most successful as they move forward in their education.

    BUILDING STRONG CHARACTER

The work of developing healthy life skills starts early at St. Barnabas. From early in their school career students learn about the Fruits of the Spirit and practice them throughout their school day in a variety of different ways.

    INTRODUCING BIBLE EDUCATION EARLY

It’s never too early to learn about God through Bible study. In a weekly, non-graded class students engage with the stories of major Bible characters and take part in activities which help them understand the underlying lessons in each story.
  • Curriculum Overview

In seventh grade our students learn to balance their academic learning with time management, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ultimately these skills and others help students to achieve our global goal of acquiring valuable critical thinking skills.

    PRACTICE BEYOND MASTERY

Our classroom environment helps students build confidence through the practice of public speaking, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.

In eighth grade our students are focused on developing the independence needed to thrive in high school. Throughout the year we measure student progress so that we can adjust our lessons appropriately.

    CULTIVATING GOOD CHARACTER

Helping students grow in character is as important to us as their academic growth. For that reason we implement a yearlong, multi-pronged approach to learning and living the spiritual and interpersonal values of our community.

    ADVISORY SMALL GROUPS

Once per month eighth grade students participate in advisory groups which are designed to nurture their social and emotional development.
