technology: Meeting our annual fund goal means new chromebooks!

St. Barnabas is one of the few 1:1 Chromebook schools in Central Florida. We believe the integration of modern technology into the classroom enhances the learning environment for our students. Though technology is not our only platform for facilitating teaching, it is definitely beneficial to our students.
Teachers, like Mrs. Kaidor, describe this integration as an opportunity to keep learning fresh when she uses technology for online quiz games that help her students prepare for tests. In third grade, Mrs. Honeyager has seen a positive effect on students’ confidence when they are using their technology to research answers or work on class projects. Technology is necessary for all students to be successful in future endeavors; although it is not the primary focus at St. Barnabas, it is most certainly a reason behind our students’ high academic successes.

Next year we plan to replace and upgrade 80 Chromebooks currently being used in our elementary school. Chromebooks are shared among 1st – 5th Grade classrooms until students receive their individual ones when entering 6th Grade. Replacing and upgrading these Chromebooks are essential improvements for effective learning in PK-8th grades.

5th Grade uses an interactive group game to reinforce classroom lessons.
By donating to our Annual Fund this year, you are giving our students the opportunity to experience advanced technology in the classroom. In addition to this benefit, our Annual Fund will provide professional development and scholarships.

Our Annual Fund campaign will wrap up at the end of December. Please keep in mind that for 2017 tax deductions, donations may be dropped off at the front office prior to December 15 or mailed to the School postmarked prior to December 31. Thank you for considering a gift to the St. Barnabas Annual Fund!
