Founded in 1971, St. Barnabas Episcopal School is a fully accredited school located in the Historic District of downtown DeLand in Volusia County. The school serves 400 plus students in PreK3 through 8th grade. St. Barnabas Episcopal School was selected as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education in 2003. This level of excellence is still present today!
Emphasis is placed on teaching the whole child, which includes high academic standards, social-emotional support, spiritual training and character education. The challenging curriculum and close teacher-student relationships provide the students with the necessary environment to apply creative and critical thinking skills and reach their individual potential.
The majority of our students graduate into the International Baccalaureate program or other Academy programs available in the public high schools. Many students choose to go to private high schools in the area and are highly qualified for the Honors programs.

Volunteers are the foundation of our school’s daily operations. We have a strong Parent Advisory Council (PAC).
Whether helping at an event, assisting during school lunch, or sharing a special talent with students, our volunteers make a difference every day.
